Review: Lingus

Lingus Lingus by Mariana Zapata
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I love Mariana Zapata. I have read 2 of her other books and I LOVED them. They are defiantly books that I am going to re-read. So I read the blurb for this and I thought it would be funny, but it just didn't do it for me.

And that honestly only has to do with Kat falling in love with Tristan.. you know the whole point of the story. But it is a totally personal issue I have. I tend to be jealous.. So I couldn't put myself in Kat's shoes because I would never ever consider dating a porn star. I know that it's a job.. but while I'm sitting at home, he's out sleeping with other women, being recorded so eventually other women can watch him. Yeah not going to work for me. But yay for Kat for not having that issue!

I mean Tristan was a total sweetheart. So I see how she fell in love with him. And I know that technically they didn't start dating until after he retired. But still... imagine down the road, you marry him.. There are videos out in the world of your hubby screwing tons of women. He did it for 2 years so there's going to be a lot. Okay and imagine later, later down the road and you have children and somehow they find out that your dad did porn.

It also sounded like he didn't really need to do it. Or did I miss when he said his reason? He has that big house and he says it's thanks to his grandma.. sO I don't understand why he was doing it in the first place. I know he said some chick in a bar came up to him and told him they should make a movie and thats what started the whole porn thing.. but who does that? He was hot... he didn't need the money.. he acted like he hated doing it.. I just don't understand.

That was something I had a problem with. I just didn't get a lot of the book and Im the type of person that needs to know why someone does something. I just felt like there were a lot of unanswered questions.
