Review: Tackled: A Football Romance

Tackled: A Football Romance Tackled: A Football Romance by Lucy Snow
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I have mixed feelings about this book. On one hand I liked the storyline, on the other.. I hated the characters.

The premise of the story is a college football player starting out in the NFL. Drake Rollins is a fantastic football player. The problem is what he does off the field. He drinks, sleeps around and gets caught a lot, Not exactly what a professional team wants in a player. Lily is a new reporter who gets to follow Drake around for his first year and report on how he's handling the NFL. They know each other from college and they have a connection and fall in love.

Okay that sounds like a freaking good story right? Bad boy player turns his life around? Sweet! Only I hated Drake. Like so, so much. He was a selfish prick. Even after he's "turned his life around". I feel bad for Lily. I would never want to be stuck with him. Hot guy or not if you're selfish, I don't want you. Lily isn't really that fantastic either. She acts like a child for the entire book.

I wanted to love it because I loved the storyline. But I didn't. It was still enjoyable and I will still read on in the series but this one just wasn't 100% awesome for me.

Review: For 100 Days

For 100 Days For 100 Days by Lara Adrian
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am a lover of Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed series. I have read that series multiple times. I love everything about it. So when I saw that she was writing a non-paranormal romance it made me little nervous. Not saying authors can't write in multiple genres because the most defiantly can. But when I love something so much it's hard to see it change.

But I was pleasantly surprised by how much I did enjoy this book. Nick has such a powerful presence that he sucks you in. Avery is a starving artist, which usually isn't my favorite but it worked for her. The raw sexual connection with the two characters was so strong. It was one of the sexiest books I've read, at least in a long while. I can't wait for the next book!

Review: Demon Possession

Demon Possession Demon Possession by Kiersten Fay
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

4.5 stars. I had a hard time rating this book. I wanted to give it 5 stars but that would have been just a little bit of a lie. It was so freaking long. The first half was kind of slow and it was really just about a girl learning about how to move on from a horrible life And then theres a little bit of her and her demon falling in love and then in the last 25% of the book we find out who she is. I just think that the there is soo much information pushed into the last quarter. I wish it was sprinkled in throughout instead of all at the end.

I loved the book though. I did love seeing Analia grow into her own person and I absolutely loved all of the characters and I am excited to see where the series goes!

Review: Night Sins

Night Sins Night Sins by Lisa Renee Jones
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

ARC kindly provided by Kensington Books via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is another short sexy book by Lisa Renee Jones. I just finished Amber Fire and this one is kind of on the same lines as that one except with a vampire. Kayla is a watcher and is in charge of protecting the people of Vegas. That would be hard enough without adding in paranormals. Ethan is a vampire who owns some hotels and clubs in Vegas. He is also having a problem where his female employees are being murdered. Kayla figures it's an inside job. So she tries to figure out who it is and Ethan wants her to stay out of it because he knows the women who have been targeted personally. Sounds fun right. Sleep with the boss and die.

Besides all the actions there is the connection with Ethan and Kayla. They are on fire for each other.. literally.. they both get super hot around each other. Ethan is a dirty talker and I like that. Seriously the book is smoking hot.

It's really good for a short story. There is a lot packed into. I defiantly would recommend it to anyone who enjoys paranormal romances. Lisa Renee Jones is quickly becoming one of my favorites with her paranormal books!

Review: Inescapable

Inescapable Inescapable by Amy A. Bartol
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Sometimes re-reading a book is a bad idea. Two years ago I loved this book... this time around I hated it. So now I'm in a pickle... do I re-rate the book on how I currently see it or do I leave it? Maybe I'll put it somewhere in the middle.

My whole purpose for re reading this book is because I never got around to reading the past the 3rd book. MY library just got these babies in audio on overdrive soo I got super excited. Yay I love audiobooks and since its been 2 years since I read the first 3 I just started over. I freaking rated the book 5 stars so I had to have loved it... sigh. ok. So since I didn't have a review the first time around and I feel bad lowering the stars I'm not going to rant about what I hated. Im going to lists the pros and cons.

What I liked
-Russell. He gets totally screwed in this book and if I remember the rest of the books but he is perfection.
-I love the actual storyline. The whole angels at war thing and Evie not knowing she was an angel. I don't read a lot of angel books because they tend to get preachy but this one did not. There's fallen angels and then there are regular angels. They have different types of angels and I find it all completely fascinating.
-Reid grows on you.. I still think Russell is better but Reid isn't terrible.
-The side characters. Buns and Brownie. Those girls are hilarious.

What I hated
-EVIE. Thats it. I hated her. I hate hating the main character when I love everything else about a book. I know that there was a supernatural pull for her and Reid but really. She's in college. you do not act like your whole world ends because your boyfriend broke up with you after 2 days. I have no flipping clue how that didn't bother me the first time around. It was completely ridiculous. She begged him to stay with her... begged . Thats weak, come on girl.

I am still going to go on with the series. I really want to finish it and see what all happens... and maybe Evie will grow a pair? Or maybe because her and Reids relationship is supposedly solid now, she won't act like a 12 year old girl. We shall see.

I originally gave this book 5 stars.. if I were to rate it now I would give it 2.. so I changed the rating to a 3.. because everything is told in Evie's POV and damn the girl is annoying!

Review: Amber Fire

Amber Fire Amber Fire by Lisa Renee Jones
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

ARC kindly provided by Kensington Books via Netgalley in exchange of an honest review.

I haven't read anything by Lisa Renee Jones in awhile and I haven't read any of her paranormal stories so I was excited to read this one and it did not disappoint.

I didn't realize it was a shorter story until I started it. Everything moves really quickly. Amber falls in lust for Jareth, Jareth is attracted to Amber but also thinks that she's a hunter. So their first sexual encounter he is kind of a jerk to try and get her to tell the truth and I guess what she's says convinces him that she is a hunter.. I don't know why he had to ask her the way that he did but oh well.

This story was sexy and exciting. The couple seem to have great chemistry. It does seem rushed but they have known each other for a month and talked a lot to get to know each other then.. So I'm good with the rushed thing. Anyways, I enjoyed this story and would recommend it to anyone who loves paranormal romances!

Review: Royal Enchantment

Royal Enchantment Royal Enchantment by Lia Davis
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I received this book as an ARC for an honest review.

I enjoyed reading this book. It's a story about a battle with dark and light elves. Yay I love books about elves. Ava (our heroine) stumbles into a whole new realm and discovers she is an elf and not only that but that she is fated to be mated to the king and help restore peace and magick to the realm. Ava and Finn(our Hero) have an insta attraction and Finn knows right away who and what Ava is. Ava takes a little bit of convincing but they soon find out what they can do together and how much love could be between them.

I loved the journey. I love all things paranormal and I especially love elves. The realm in which this book is set up in is magically beautiful. Ava can do and experience to much more in this world and it was fun to see her learn her new home.

Solid 4.5 stars. I will defiantly be reading the next one and many more from Lia Davis.
