Review: Pleasure of a Dark Prince

Pleasure of a Dark Prince Pleasure of a Dark Prince by Kresley Cole
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I wanted to like this book but I just didn't really enjoy it that much.

I HATE books where there is a secret that they fight over the whole flipping book and thats exactly what this book was. There was a lot of lies and to be honest they were all pretty stupid. If she would have just told him what was going on, he could have helped. I know he was all "I am man. Hear me roar." But I still thinking telling him would have been the better option. Plus she tortured him for a year. All because she couldn't have sex with him. JUST TELL HIM YOU CANT HAVE SEX!!!!! Why be a bitch?

I got kind of bored with the whole book. 3 stars is a generous rating.

Review: Forgotten Visions

Forgotten Visions Forgotten Visions by Lia Davis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I received an ARC from the author for an honest review.

I loved Kalissa and who the heck couldn't love Ayden? Ill be honest and say that I liked him a lot more than I liked Kalissa. It has to be hard to know someone is your mate and she doesn't really act that way towards you. It was heartbreaking to see him struggle and to see how she really had no idea. I loved watching their story progress.

I also loved the storyline itself. There are so many secrets and surprises. I was defiantly never bored. The only thing that bothered me a little was Kalissa... I know it wasn't her fault but come on! Ayden was perfect! He treated her like a queen and loved her even when she didn't know what was going on. I am super excited for the next book!!

Review: An Offer From a Gentleman

An Offer From a Gentleman An Offer From a Gentleman by Julia Quinn
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

***Mild spoilers***

I wanted to like this book more than I did. I like Cinderella stories but this one just didn't work for me.

Sophia is a bastard daughter of an Earl who dies. She has an evil step mother and step sisters. She sneaks off one night to go to a ball held at the Bridgerton's home and thats where she meets Benedict. He claims he feels when she walks in the room and it is a soul deep feeling. They spend sometime talking and he teaches her how to dance and when the clock strikes midnight Sophia runs away but not before Benedict gets her glove. So yes, it's pretty much exactly like Cinderella. I was okay with that part.

Benedict tries to find her but can't. A couple of years go by and he finds her in the middle of a bad situation and he saves her and takes her to work for his mother. He doesn't recognize her. She of course knows who he is but she says nothing. He wants her to be his mistress. He can't marry her because she is so far beneath him but he still wants her in his life and in his bed.

My problem with this book is that they spend so much time together and she never says a word and he never realizes its the girl from the ball. He even takes her v-card without them every talking about it. It just annoys me that everything could have been resolved with one freaking conversation. That always annoys me in books. Also my god the ending was so unbelievably corny. I wanted to throw my kindle away it was so cheesy. I have to find historical romance books with out the cheese. The first 2 books from this series weren't cheesy but this one was full of the cheese.

Also I read the epilogue thing and I wish I didn't. I know who Colin ends up with and I know how they act together. I think that kind of ruins the next book for me. Im not quite sure why that was added in there.

Review: Bite Me If You Can

Bite Me If You Can Bite Me If You Can by Lynsay Sands
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

3 1/2 -4 stars.. Okay so I actually liked this book. It's no secret that I have not been a huge fan of the Argeneau family. But this one was actually pretty good.

y whole problem with this series is that I feel like the author tries to hard to make funny situations. They just come off as awkward and there were a few moments in this book that made me cringe and think theres no way in hell this would ever happen but it wasn't the whole book so I can forgive it.

I also liked Lucian and Leigh. I think Lucian was a sweet vampy teddybear that was trying to be a mean ol grizzly but he couldn't do it. He was adorable. Leigh was.. well I didn't like her as much as I liked Lucian. She took finding out about vampires and being turned into one way too well. It just wasn't realistic at all. But she couldn't believe that he was her life mate. Sure vamps can be real but life mates? hell no. She also acted like a child a lot. But I do think because she acted like a child it kind of made Lucian loosen up. So really it worked for them.

i am hoping that the series keeps getting better because theres so many books!! I want to love them.

Review: Big Bad Beast

Big Bad Beast Big Bad Beast by Shelly Laurenston
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Is it bad that the best part of this book was when Blayne was there? I mean I loved Ric and Dee kind of grew on me but every tim Blayne showed up I couldn't stop laughing. She is a freak nutbag and I love her.

So Ric and Dee met when they were children, once and Ric decided then that he was going to marry her and feed her. Now that they are older Dee works for Ric for The Group and they don't recognize each other. Which I kind of found baffling but whatever. They kind of start out as a friend with benefits.. well thats how Dee saw it but Ric was already in love with her and was just trying to figure out a way to get her to stay with him forever. They were cute. Ric is kind of crazy with his food and feeding Dee and Dee is just kind of crazy... and not in the ha ha way more like the Im going to slit your throat in your sleep way. But for whatever reason it works.

I enjoyed this book but I think I have such a girl crush on Gwen and Blayne and their crazy obnoxious-ness that it was hard for me to love Dee. Even though she was kind of awesome in her own kick ass sort of way. The book was still amazing an I still loved it, jus not as much as the last 2 books.

Review: Beast Behaving Badly

Beast Behaving Badly Beast Behaving Badly by Shelly Laurenston
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I absolutely loved this book. I laughed the whole freaking time. Blayne was funny in the last book but put her with Bo and it was a match made in hell/heaven. Blayne is crazy, never on time, messy, loud, obnoxious. Bo has a VERY, vERY strict schedule. He is up tight, obsessed with making schedules, obsessed with being on time by the second, and he's obsessed with cleaning. They are 100% opposites but seeing them together was a thing of miracles. I still don't completely understand how they fit but they do, perfectly. They balance each other out? kind of. Even though neither one of them really compromises on anything. They just co-exsist in each others worlds. I love it!!

One of my favorite books from the series. I think I said that about the last book but I liked this one better!!

Review: Smoke and Fire

Smoke and Fire Smoke and Fire by Donna Grant
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Is it driving everyone crazy to not know what King is Rhi(idk if thats how you spell her name)? I think I'm going to go mad if I don't find out soon. I keep guessing but then my mind changes. It's frustrating and it takes up a lot of my mind when reading these books. It takes away from the story and pisses me off.

The book was good. Thats my review. I'm too tired and too pregnant to think today.

Review: Demon's Captive

Demon's Captive Demon's Captive by Stephanie Snow
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

This book was recommended to me forever ago. I can't even remember by who but it actually came up on my kindle so I got it and I couldn't put it down. Not necessarily because it was a fantastic book but because I wanted to figure it out. I am not a huge BDSM fan. The thought of pain does absolutely nothing for me. So I go back and forth on this book. He rapes her repeatedly. In ways that make her bleed and she gets off on it.. I think that would be the worst thing to have your body betray you. Anyways, he starts to some how get feelings and I guess she does too? I'm still a little confused. I don't remember them actually ever talking. We heard all of their inner thoughts but I don't remember them ever having a conversation. Usually in darker romance books, the captor will talk to his captive and learn a little bit about them and vise versa and they slowly like each other. Or something like that but this one.. idk. He gets really jealous at one point and beats the shit out of her and then a few days later bonds with her.. So I just don't get it. And toward the end, all his inner thoughts were about how he wanted to dominate her (after the bonding he tried to be less aggressive during sex) and that was never resolved.

I feel like I wanted to like the book but I just didn't understand how the relationship progressed. I know insta love and all that crap but this wasn't like that. He fully intended to kill her after he raped her so it wasn't insta love. I mean I read the book in one sitting so it wasn't terrible, I just don't see how the relationship turned into love or anything more than master and slave.

Review: Love In The Afternoon

Love In The Afternoon Love In The Afternoon by Lisa Kleypas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am really sad that this series is over. I have enjoyed each and every Hathaway. I love their family. I love how open they are with each other and I love how they fight. I am going to miss them terribly.

Beatrix has always been one of my favorites. I love animals (not anywhere near as much as she does) but I have always felt a connection with her. Not just because of the animals but because everyone thinks she's odd, more odd than the rest of her family. I love the way she reacts to others and I just lover her attitude toward life and the english society.

When I read the summary for this book I got a little nervous. I really don't like books that are based on deceit and honestly thats how this one started out. Beatrix started writing to Captain Christopher Phelan because he had written to her friend and her friend how no intention of writing back. Beatrix felt bad, so she wrote to him and signed her friends name. That went on for months and she fell in love with him and he fell in love with her. So when he gets back home and realized that the friend wasn't the same girl who wrote those letters he felt like they had played a prank on him. And thats just not what a soldier needs when get comes back from war.

Anyways, it turns out good in the end. The letter writing didn't go on all that long and PHelan found out rather quickly that it was Beatrix that wrote to him and instead of being upset like I thought he would he loved her and married her.

There was of course problems and way more to the story but I honestly loved this book. There was a lot of interactions with the rest of the Hathaway tribe. I love seeing and hearing from them in each book. I do wish that there may have been a recap of all their lives, since it was the last book.. At least I think it is.. is there a spin off?? I don't know but I will find out. I will defiantly read more from Lisa Kleypas. She writes funny historical romances and thats the only kind I can read.

Review: Risk

Risk Risk by Dannika Dark
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

You defiantly have to read the whole Mageri series before you read this book. If you haven't read that series yet then go read it and do not read this book! And because I don't want to ruin anything this is going to be a quick review.

I really do love Simon. He was the same cocky bad boy that we all fell in love with in the Mageri series. This time we get to find out a little bit more about him... even though I will say that there wan't a lot of time spent on his past or what exactly happened to him. We kind of get a quick summary and then thats it.

I really loved Ella. She is not at all what I was expecting. Even though I should have known that she would have to be a bad ass in her own way to be able to keep up with Simon. She had a certain disability that for most people would make them weaker in the mage world but Ella rocked it. And when Simon started helping her, she kicked freaking ass.

I want to say that I loved this book because I love the Mageri series, I love Dannika Dark and I have loved Simon since the first time he swaggered into Justice's house but I just didn't love it. I felt a little disappointed actually. The story was fantastic and it defiantly drew me in but I felt like the romance was played down. I understand that Simon never had any intention of settling down but they never had more than a few kisses and the ending?.. I felt extremely unsatisfied by how the relationship was left. It almost felt like a cliffhanger. it wasn't! But it just didn't seem like there was a real conclusion.

I hope we get more about Simon and Ella in future books. I really want to see where they end up. I think I liked Ella just as much as I liked Silver. So I'm defiantly excited to see where it's all going.

Review: The Mane Squeeze

The Mane Squeeze The Mane Squeeze by Shelly Laurenston
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh my God, I LOVED this book! Shelly Laurenston is my new favorite author. I love everything she writes. It all makes me laugh.

Lock is the greatest shifter ever on the face of the Earth. Gwen was hilariously crazy. Like she was kind of a nut job. She was terrified of doctors, thought they were going to harvest her organs. Im not quite sure why that was so funny to me but it was. Lock was extremely laid back. He is one of the best written bear shifters I have ever read. Lock was huge, he was curious about everything, he loved honey, he took all the drama in and didn't really care about it, and he played with his toes. Seriously, I am in love like I have never been in love before. I loved how he was with Gwen and I loved how little he cared about all of her brothers drama.

I am almost too in love with this book to talk about it rationally. I keep wanting to say I love it and then my mind goes all gooey and lovey and I want to marry Lock. So this is all I'm going to say. I LOVE THIS BOOK! I LOVE LOCK! I loved the relationship he had with Gwen (even if I hate her a little bit ;) This is by far my favorite boo from the series. I honestly don't think it can get any better.

Review: Married By Morning

Married By Morning Married By Morning by Lisa Kleypas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Loved this book. Leo was so incredibly sweet. Not exactly something I would have thought him capable of, at least not with anyone outside his family and especially not with Cat. But he was the sweetest guy and he said some of the most perfect things ever. Of course I don't remember them but I remember reading them and being like omg marry me.

I loved their banter. They didn't argue like they did before they really knew each other but they still argued.. in a loving way. It was adorable. I like that the relationship wasn't overly serious with a whole bunch of drama. It was a fun relationship. I just freaking loved them together.

The only thing I didn't like about the book was how long it took Cat to accept the proposal. Leo was amazing in every way. I know all her fears were of herself not being good enough but that always just pisses me off. The man would not have given you attention if he thought you weren't good enough. Leo need played mind games. So that just annoyed me.

Now on to the animal lover :)

Review: Tempt Me at Twilight

Tempt Me at Twilight Tempt Me at Twilight by Lisa Kleypas
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I thought Poppy was going to be extremely boring, but she really wasn't. She, like the rest of the Hathaway sisters, is different than most of the society ladies. She enjoys talking politics and has opinions on ancient artifacts. She is completely interesting and I liked learning about her. She is nothing like I thought she was going to be. Harry... yeah Harry... well I did not like him. He was a manipulative bastard. I don't care what kind of childhood you had, it doesn't give you the right to change someone else life to suit your own needs. Honestly I can't believe Poppy agreed to marry him after what he did. She kind of stood her ground after they got married but I feel like she gave in way too quickly when she found out about his childhood. I kind of lost some respect for her. I would not be able to trust him ever. No matter how sweet he started being.

I also got bored with the book at about 80%. After they finally sleep together, they become annoyingly mushy and I hate that. I wanted to skip so much of the last part of the book. I wanted to like the book more than I did. I loved Poppy until I didn't and I hated Harry from the start. To me characters are everything in a book so when I don't like one or both it ruins it for me.

Not gonna lie, I am so excited for the next book. LEO! Finally!

Review: The Devil in Disguise

The Devil in Disguise The Devil in Disguise by Cynthia Eden
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was pretty fantastic. It honestly reminded me a lot of the tv show Lucifer.. even though it's nothing like it. I can't explain it but the whole book I thought of Lucifer and I pictured Luke as the actor who plays Lucifer. Sigh. This really has nothing to do with the book..

At first I got a little nervous about the book. Mina seduces Luke into taking her back to his house. I thought she was working with the bad people but it turns out hat she was trying to free herself of her "dark" gift. She has a voice that can make people do anything. She didn't want to hurt people so she wanted it gone. Naturally she went to the lord of darkness to rid her of her darkness. Luke finds it amusing and he's attracted to her and he wants to keep her. But she has the enemy ( or some sort of government group) after her. The leader is obsessed with her and will do anything to get her back.

The story had a lot of action and it was an interesting read. The characters were all well developed. I felt like I really got to know them and I loved seeing their romance play out as it did. I love Cynthia Eden. I love her writing and how there is always so much going on. I can't wait for the next book in this series!

Review: In Bed With the Devil

In Bed With the Devil In Bed With the Devil by Lorraine Heath
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Loved this book! Lady Catherine wasn't like a lot of the ladies from that time. She was headstrong and didn't want to marry because she wanted the freedom to what she pleased. She wasn't overly worried about what each action did to her reputation, she was just herself. I absolutely loved her. Lucian was kind of the same.. except he was never accepted into society because of his childhood. But I loved his attitude toward society. I loved his relationship with his friends. Although I did not like Frannie, at all. She lead him on when she had zero intentions on actually marrying him. He was the sweetest guy.. With some edge but deep down he was a freaking sweetheart. He showed how much he cared for Catherine with every action. I loved their relationship. I just loved this whole book. I can't wait to read the next one.

Review: A Little Band of Red

A Little Band of Red A Little Band of Red by Lily Freeman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I had kind of a love/hate relationship with this book. On one hand parts of it were hot and I enjoyed the characters and on the other hand I wanted to punch both the MCs for doing/allowing her to be hurt. Im so not into the hardcore pain.

I enjoy BDSM books. Okay, let me rephrase that. I enjoy light BDSM books. Tie her up, spank her, nipple clamp her, yank her hair, flog her and I can even deal with canning. But I have a little bit of an issue when the hero wants to make the girl cry and leave marks of pain on her body. This is the first book that I have read where the hero was an actual sadist. I was okay with it when there was a little bit of pain and PJ just kind of dealt with it but I hated that Luke insisted that it's what she truly wanted. Bleh. I always have fixed feelings with submission. I'm the type of girl where if anyone tells me what I want, ill do the complete opposite. And I am SO NOT into pain. So i struggled with that in this book. There were times that I cringed in sympathy pains. Also there was a scene with hot chocolate and the whole time I thought god that would ruin chocolate for me. Pain does not equal yummy food.

The whole book I wanted her to leave Luke and hook up with Mika and Elliott.

What I really loved about the book was the characters. I liked see PJ kind of develop into her own person. We don't get a lot of info about her ex but we can tell that he was a douche and I liked seeing her overcome that and find a guy that more suited her.. Even though I'm not 100% convinced that Luke is her perfect guy but I LOVE him when he isn't pushing her too far. Although really she should have safe worded that shit.

I can not wait for the next book! I have to see what happens next!! I want to see if she actually is into all the pain or if she is just dealing with it for Luke. It's gonna be gooooood!

Review: A Certain Wolfish Charm

A Certain Wolfish Charm A Certain Wolfish Charm by Lydia Dare
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I enjoyed the first half of this book quite a lot. But then it went downhill, it went downhill very quickly. Once they get married, we find out that Simon is a dirtbag. Let's list the

1. He had a mistress on her way to his house. Thats whatever I guess. They got married fast and he forgot. okay I can get over that but what I can't get over is him trying to hid the fact that the mistress was throwing herself at him. she gave him a key, he hid that too. OH AND he went up to her room to tell her that he wanted nothing to do with her... bitch please. you dO NOT go up to your mistress room and lie to your wife about it.
2. He takes her out in public when he knows that the ton is talking and laughing about her and he didn't even give her a heads up. Thats just rude.
3. He takes her to a dress shop to get her a new wardrobe. Thats sweet right. Except thats where he takes all of his mistress to get outfitted. Again he didn't feel the need to give her a heads up or idk take her to a different effing shop.
4. He lies constantly. He has a huge secret that he doesn't want her to know about.. but he really shouldn't have married her with this secret hanging out there because now he is lying to her on a daily basis.

Theres more I'm sure but those are the ones that I got like extremely pissed about. Whats worse is that Lily, the stupid cow, just instantly forgives him. She gets mad but doesn't stick to it.

I honestly picked up this book because Westfield is my hometown and when I saw Westfield wolves I got super excited. I wasn't expecting too much but like I said I really loved the first half of the book. The second half was so bad though that it kind of ruined the whole thing for me. I hate Simon.

Just NO. Why is this book getting such great reviews? WHY? The female lead talks like she's 14 trying to impress an older boy. It's annoying and desperate and I want to punch her in the face. I hate that I actually spent money on this.. granted it was 99 cents but still! Thats a large soda from McDonalds! I only got to about 15% into the book but I refuse to waste anymore time on this.

Review: Seduce Me at Sunrise

Seduce Me at Sunrise Seduce Me at Sunrise by Lisa Kleypas
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I am having a hard time rating this book. I wish I would have gotten the audiobook. I think I would have enjoyed it more. I liked the characters. I love the Hathaway family as a whole. I did not like how Kev refused to be with Win. They both loved each other. They both openly admitted that but for stupid reasons one Kev could understand, he wouldn't marry her. This is the struggle for most of the book. Win throws herself at him and he responds at first but then pushes her away. I really don't enjoy that kind of book. I also thought that book was long. But that could be because I really didn't like it all that much.

The writing was fantastic. The characters were all well developed. I just didn't like how the couple was towards each other. It took too long for Kev to get over himself and marry her. Ill read the next book eventually. Right now I am on a historical romance kick and it's hard for me to find HR that I can even get somewhat into. So ill defiantly give this series another try.

Review: Nice Girls Don't Live Forever

Nice Girls Don't Live Forever Nice Girls Don't Live Forever by Molly Harper
My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I really didn't like this book all that much. Jane is funny but she is also kind of stupid. Gabriel's big secret, the one that almost ruined his relationship because he refused to tell Jane, was ridiculous. He said he didn't want to tell her because he was protecting her and he was embarrassed and thats complete bullshit. I HATED Gabriel in this book. I know I'm in the minority because I have read a few reviews and everyone seems to love him and I'm over here like.. wtf is wrong with people.

Don't even get me started on the sex scene against the building. Gabriel hadn't talked to her in weeks, he shows up kisses her forehead and Jane forgets all about their many, many problems and lets him screw her against a wall. Oh and they both know that there is a crazy chick out there stalking Jane, taking pictures of her but that doesn't matter.

Honestly there wasn't a whole lot I enjoy about this one. Even Jane's quips couldn't save it for me. I was so annoyed with Jane and Gabriel that I couldn't enjoy the humor.

Review: Nice Girls Don't Date Dead Men

Nice Girls Don't Date Dead Men Nice Girls Don't Date Dead Men by Molly Harper
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

Is it just me or is Gabriel kind of a d-bag in this book? Or maybe I have trust issues? That might be it. But when a guy you are semi dating tells you he loves you and then doesn't return your calls for 2 days and he goes off for a week without calling and he won't tell you what he's doing and he's not staying in the places he tells you... yeah thats sketchy to me. But hey to each their own.

This book was funny. Jane is a hilarious characters but I just didn't like it as much as I liked the first book. I honestly don't like her relationship with Gabriel. It was obvious what was going on with Zeb from the start. Dick is becoming a love sick vampire. And I really, really didn't care about he wedding. All the pages about planning the wedding were boring! Some of her inner dialogue was funny but totally not worth reading.

I'm obviously going to keep going in the series.. why not the books are short and Jane is funny.

Review: Savage Urges

Savage Urges Savage Urges by Suzanne Wright
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Another girl crush. Suzanne Wright knows how to write awesome female characters. I also loved Ryan. I have been hoping that he would get his own book. I like the silent guys. And I really like Makenna and Ryan together. One thing that I loved about this book was that Ryan sensed the mate bond really early on. Of course there were things that kept it from snapping together but Ryan knew in the beginning that she was his true mate. In the other books no one senses it at all. They go into it thinking it's just going to be some awesome sex and then realize later on that they are mates. But Ryan was open and 100% honest about how he felt. Again anything thing I found really awesome. you would think that since he doesn't speak that often that he wouldn't be open with how much he needed her but he was.. and not even only to her. He was pissed that he couldn't tell his pack right away that he found his mate. Which is absolutely adorable if you ask me.

Another amazing book from Suzanne Wright. I love this series and now I'm going to move on to the The Mercury Pack books even though I guess I should have read the first one before this one because the couple is already together in this book but oh well!
