A Sorceress of His Own by Dianne Duvall

I liked it! I did not like it as much as I have liked Dianne Duvall's Immortal Guardian series.  It was still pretty good.  I was a little worried when Alyssa went to work for a man she was in love with.. even though she had never met him.  But it turned out okay.  She if a gifted one.  She can heal and a few other abilities.  She works for Dillon.. they Earl that she is madly in love with for 7 years.  He along with everyone else thinks she is an old woman.  Well there are a bunch of rumors about what she looks like because she never shows her face.  She is a mystery. But for the last 7 years her an Dillon have grown close as friends.

She saves him from a mortal wound and Seth and Roland show up!! yay :) I love me some Seth.  And they show Alyssa's family (who are all gifted ones) how to heal her.  So that was pretty cool.  I liked that Seth and Roland were added in there.. even if it was only for a minute.  This is the first time Dillon sees her and then realized that she is a young babe.  So obviously he then falls madly in love with her.  Eh. Some parts were a little too cheesy for me.  But I can over look that because the rest was good.

The story takes awhile to get started but overall it was worth the read.  I will defiantly keep going with this series!

Shadows Strike by Dianne Duvall

It should come to no surprise that I adored this book.  Dianne Duvall can do no wrong in my eyes.. or eyes since I listened to the audiobook.  I will not lie, I was worried about this one just because of the whole him being in love with Lisette thing.. That usually drives me crazy.  I want my male lead to be totally focused on the female lead in my books but he totally was.  Once he met Heather he was all "Lisette who?"

oohhh and then there was the double date scene and I was like Dianne girl what are you doing but it actually turned out okay.  Heather is a cool girl.  I gotta say I would have a hard time with the guy I love being friends with someone he slept with for a century. Especially since Ethan thought he loved her.  But really it was obvious that Ethan only wanted Heather.  If there was even one minute of doubt from him I would have hated him.  I know that is unfair because he thought he loved Lisette for 100 years and that isn't something you just give up.  I get that.  But I am a jealous little reader.  He realized that he did love Lisette but only as a friend and I was very okay with that.

And yay so was Heather! She was pretty awesome always running in and saving Ethan.  Psh, almost dying and what not.  I liked her a lot.  And I really, really hope that Aiden get his book next.  I love him.  I think he is a fun character and omg Jared!!! ahhh.

Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night by Kresley Cole

LOVED IT!! I listened to the audiobook and holy crap the accents!  Very well done.  I enjoyed this book very much.  I love Kresley Cole's Lykaes.  I have struggled with the vampire books but I loved the ones about the Lykaes.

I loved Bowen and Mari.  I actually really liked both.  I am not going to lie I wanted to kill Bowen after he said the wrong name.  I would have removed certain parts of him if I were Mari but other than that he was werewolf perfection. And I loved seeing Mari bring him back to life.  Even while they were "hating" each other at the beginning they were playing with each other and having fun.  I think that was exactly what Bowen needed.  I think Mari was the perfect fit for him.

Anyways.. the story.. well there really wasn't much of a plot until the end.  They were just trying to get back home for most of the book.  It was super entertaining though. I enjoyed it at least.  But that's because I loved both characters and they made me laugh. I also loved all the side characters that were with them in the journey.  They were funny and I am glad that Cade and Ry are getting their own book soon!

Rogue by Karen Lynch

Oh I did not like this book at all. And not just because Sara drove me crazy half the time.  Because she did do that.  She was extremely selfish especially when it came to anything with Nikolas.  It seemed she lied a lot to him.. And thats just not a good way to have a relationship.

And holy crap balls their relationship was awkward in this book!! Was it that way in the others?  I don't remember it being that way.  Their freaking dinner date was so uncomfortable to read.  I don't read a lot of YA books anymore just because a lot of the cutesy stuff usually makes me want to barf but to me they weren't even like that "omg they are soo cute".  No they were just awkward.

Besides the relationship the book was okay.  I liked Jordan.  I think she would have been a stronger female lead.  Well at least in this book.  I don't remember hating Sara in the other books.  I remember thinking she was selfish but I loved the other ones! Hell I feel like I have been waiting on Rogue to come out FOREVER.  But I am extremely disappointed.

I am glad that everything is tied up with the master and all that jazz.  But the book was just ehh. Not at all as good as I was expecting.  Still glad I read it though.  I did have to know how everything ended.

Sin Undone by Larissa Ione

I honestly wasn't a huge fan of this book.  Mainly because I wasn't a huge fan of Sin. She had that whole "tough girl" thing that I like most of the time but the way Sin acted towards others was just obnoxious.  She doesn't need anyone because she's tough. Bull shit chica.  Shut up and accept help from your family.

I liked Con.. kinda.  I liked him a lot more than I liked Sin and I defiantly liked him at the end of the book but he was an acquired taste.  He was kind of a dick at first but so was Sin so really what did she expect?

I was sad for the Demonica series to end.  It is not secret that I haven't LOVED the series as much as some other but it has been entertaining and I have enjoyed seeing the boys (and I guess Sin) grow up and find their mates and be happy :)

The Moonshadow's Daughter by Kaylie Newell

Eh.. okay well let me just say that I got this ARC from net galley and I have not read the 2 books before this one.  I think it read fine as a stand alone though.  I did not feel like I was missing any vital information at all.  In fact if I hadn't looked up the series I would never had known it was a from a series.

The story was good.. I always have issues with books when children are involved but that's just me and honestly Aimee was so amazing with Jake's son.  I was super impressed by her.  I think that Jake thought about his dead wife too much.. I know that sounds insensitive because it hadn't been that long. but if he also falls in love with a young "dead" girl. So I mean.. I think that there should have been more time for him to grieve his wife and then move on.

I tend to be a jealous reader.. I want my male hero to be all about the heroine.  And yes Jake does get there at the very, very end but it took him the whole book to get there.  The relationship kind of seemed almost fatherly to me at times and that was also creepy.

I dunno.  It was good! defiantly worth reading!

Night Unbound by Dianne Duvall

Be still my beating heart... I freaking love this series so freaking much I can't stand it!  This book was so good!!

I was a little nervous about this on just because Lisette and Zach were both immortals.. well Zach isn't technically an immortal but I was just afraid that there wasn't going to be that tension between them like there have been with all the other immortal couples.  And then the added tension with turning them.  I always loved that.  But honestly this book did not need that tension at all.

Zach is obviously different and I have wanted to know more about since he warned Seth his phone was broken and who doesn't love Lisette.  I loved learning more about Seth too.

And yay the baby was finally born!

Loved how everything was woven into this book.  "The others" were sprinkled in.  I am glad we are finally learning more about them.  And I am freakin glad that Zach got away from them!! Their relationship is adorable.  I love that Zach lets her be herself without going too caveman.

Night Huntress Series by Jeaniene Frost

This is a re-read and not the just the second re-read.  I love this series.  I have been going back through the audiobooks this week for this series and I seriously love it just as much as I did the first few times I read them.

Yeah Kat annoys me a little at first because she is so naive about Vampires but after the first book she gets so much better.  I have heard that a few readers have put the book down because of her and I have to say that that's a bad decision.  There are not a lot of books out there that I can read over and over again like I can like these and not really get bored.  The only other series off hand is the Dark Hunter series.  But with those you just get one book for each couple.

What I love so much about this series is that you get so much of Kat and Bones.  You get to learn everything about them and you get to grow with them as they grow as a couple.

Some readers say that a lot of the books have the same story.  Bad guys are after Kat, Bones chases those bad guys down, and they all live happily ever after.  Uh I completely disagree.  Sure Kat has people after her and yeah duh her husband helps her eliminate those people but the books are so much more than that.  And anyone who says differently hasn't really read the story.

If you love paranormal romance, this is defiantly a great series for you! Get past your annoyance for Kat in the first book.. She get better.  Bones is pretty much perfect the whole series.  Kat screws up a lot.  But that's alright. I think everyone should give this series a chance!!

Awaken Me Darkly by Gena Showalter

I wasn't a huge fan of this one.  The world that Gena Showalter set up is interesting and I like that but I did not like the characters.  Mia Snow is a badass. Seriously.  She likes to kill and she hates men.  oh and would you believe that she has daddy issues?  She is constantly threatening to hurt everyone around her and her male friends just laugh.. uh no.  Thats insane. Do not encourage that behavior.

Mia has some serious anger issues.. she beats up on Kyrin like a lot.  And after they sleep together she thinks about killing him.  She actually plans it out! Talks about feasting on his heart.  This woman seriously needs some therapy.  Or wine.  Wine helps.

Here's the thing with a bad main character.. it makes it hard to focus on anything helps.  At least for me it does.  I don't know about everyone else, but when I don't like a character I tend to focus on that.   And really I didn't enjoy what little I got from the story.  I liked the aliens living on Earth.  I like that part of it.  But the whole baby selling thing... ehh..

Soooo.... Honestly I kind of didn't want to finish the book.  Mia was obnoxious.  I will eventually read the next one just because I love Gena Showalter but I did not like this one at all.

Wild Cat by Jennifer Ashley

Loved this book! Cassidy and Diego were perfect together.  I loved the dynamic with this relationship. With Cassidy being the shifter and Diego the human.. it made it a little different than the last couple boos from the series and I liked it.

Cassidy is an alpha shifter and Diego is an "alpha human".  I like seeing the together.  And good lord when Diego speak Spanish to her.. I wan to die.  He was soo sexy.  I fuckin loved his character.

The story was good too.. Honestly I was caught up in the romance to pay too much attention to the story. There was a fae hunting Cassidy because he need her blood to try to get back to his home and Diego finally go the guys that killed his partner and thats where they found that ruined city with all those poor shifters.  Yeah... and a bunch of other things I'm sure but really I just want to ramble on about how in love I am with Diego.. Because I am. He owns my heart now.

So ladies if nothing else read  this book for him alone!

Forbidden Nights with a Vampire by Kerrelyn Sparks

Oh Phil.  I feel so freaking bad for you.. Vanda is Terrible.  With a capital T.  Phil has always been one of my favorite side characters and honestly I have never liked Vanda but I though eh maybe she won't be that bad once I know her back story... But it really didn't help.  I hate her more.  I know she was suppose to have anger problems but all of that just came across as childish temper tantrums.  The whole book I kept thinking oh my god Phil is perfection what the hell does he see in her.  Ugh.

Last week I read Shadows's edge and hated Jenna the main character and I though there was no way I could ever dislike a female lead as much as I hated her but Vanda is seriously close.  I am being super harsh.  She just drove me insane.

I wasn't even going to finish it but you learn some good information about the vamp war so I glad that I did.  But I will forever but sad for my lovely, sweet Phil being stuck with that crazy Vanda.

No Rest for the Wicked by Kresley Cole

This book was good!  I didn't quite like it at first.  I was put off by the whole hunting for treasure thing.  I haven't ever really been a fan of

What I did love about this book was that it was insta-love.  It was defiantly insta-lust but not love.  How can you really love someone with out having a conversation with them.  They realize that they are mates.  Sebastian knows that she is his bride and that he must protect her.

Nikolai asked, "Do you love her?"
"No. But I recognize that she is mine. And that I am meant to protect her."
"It's enough. More will come with time," Nikolai said.

I love that.  Because that is the truth.  The attraction is obviously there and the love can come later when they get to know each other a little better.  So that is one of the things I did love about this book.

What I didn't love was the competition.. The thing I love about PNR books is the villains and the action.. And this one really didn't have that.  Yes I guess Bowe could be considered the "bad" guy but not really he was just the best competition. He really wasn't a villain at all. There was a little action I guess but not battle. It just didn't do it for me.  I got a little bored to be honest.  Obviously you know what the outcome of the completion is going to be so what the point of the game at all..

But the romance was good.  Great even.  One of the best I've read.  I didn't even particularly care for either character but I was still drawn into their story.

Dragon Bound by Thea Harrison

I pretty much hate myself for not starting this series sooner. I think this world is going to be pretty amazing.

I love Pia.  I think she is hilarious.  She stole a penny...a freaking penny. And then left a sorry note on the back of a receipt that started this whole mess.  I love it! She has me laughing the entire book.  Her paired up with Dragos who is extremely serious and not funny is perfect.  They balance each other out. Their chemistry is so good. Even though he is extremely overbearing, Pia doesn't really let him get away with.  She knows when to pick her battles.

“I am jealous, selfish, acquisitive, territorial and possessive. I have a terrible temper, and I know I can be a cruel son of a bitch.” He cocked his head. “I used to eat people, you know.”
Pretty much one of the greatest thing Dragos says.  I think it sums him up pretty well and it sums up why I loved him and the book.

I think it is going to be a great series.  I am excited to get to the next one!

Shadow's Edge by J.T. Geissinger

I hated Jenna. HATED her.  The story was interesting and Leander is a dream boat but Jenna... oh my god.  She drove me nuts.  Honestly I almost stopped reading it. She has been running for how long? and at the first sign of  someone being there she panics and shows her super strength to a room full of people. really??  and then there was this
“So she did what she always did when confronted with something she couldn’t figure out: she put it out of her mind.”     That line right there almost made me put the book down.   She is defiantly top 5 most hated female leads. Maybe even number 1 because at the moment I can't think of another that I dislike more.

But I read on because the book had potential.  And really the story was okay.. ish.  I think it could have been a lot better if they would have focused on the community more and not on the romance.  I like the Ikati people.

Not sure if I will read the next one.. well thats a lie.  I will because I liked Morgan.  But it won't be for awhile.
Im giving this book such a low rating all because of the main character.  The MC is the book.. even with a strong story.  I was so annoyed with everything Jenna did or said that it took away from the story.  I just couldn't enjoy it.

Darkest Flame by Donna Grant

I liked this book.. But I did feel a little lost at times.  I haven't read any of Donna Grant's other books so I don't know any of her other characters or their stories and some of whats going on in this book I think relates to those other books.  I thought I would be okay because this is the first book of the series but I guess not.. I mean it's not huge things just little things that as an obsessive reader annoy me that I don't know.

Once I got over that little annoyance and focused on THIS actual story I loved it.  Denae is an okay female lead.. and Kellan was an ok male lead.  I was a little put off by him just because after he found out Denae left he immediately went for his sword instead of figuring out exactly what happened... You just met the girl.  I get that you love her and she is your mate but you are going to kill your leader/friend of idk a million years because he suggested she leave. REALLY?  Up until that point I loved him but then I was just like ehh..

When we are married for 100 years are you going to kill me if I break a cup? because I tend to do that.  I just thought it was a slight over reaction to what happened.  Was Con a complete bastard? Absolutely.  Would I break his face? Absolutely.  After I went and got the girl. Would I kill Con? Hell no because I am not a psycho.

Okay dokey.  Now that I have ranted about like one page of the whole book... Sorry. It is a good book! Worth reading.  I am just going to go back and read her other series first.  I don't think it will really make that much of a difference but I am just weird like that.

Darkness Rises by Dianne Duvall

Love it! Not that I am surprised at all.  I have loved this entire series.  Dianne Duvall is just fantastic and she knows how to write an engaging book.  I can't stop once I start.  I started the audio book at work but my work day ended and I wanted to stay.. ! seriously that's how into the book I was.

Krysta was another badass female lead like the rest of the women in this series.  What I love about these books is that yes they all can seriously kick some ass but they all do it differently and all the stories are different.  A lot of times you get the same story repeated over and over again and so far that hasn't happened.  Krysta started off as a Vampire hunter.  Hello! Awesome!

I was a little worried about Etienne.. just because he hasn't really played a large role in the other books.  He has kind of been in the background in most.  And not that his ability isn't amazing but it is kind of generic and he is relatively young for an immortal. SO I was a little worried that his story was going to be kind of bland.  But he was sweet and funny and I liked him and Krysta together.

And everything else that you find out in this books kind of makes up for the (kind of) boring romance.  And I mean KIND OF.  I loved them really they are adorably perfect together and will make one hell of a fighting team but yeah... the story.. they have a traitor!!! duh duh duh... is that how you would type that sound?  y'all get the picture.  Things are getting interesting.

Plus can we just take a moment and swoon over Zach?  I really hope I am not getting my hopes up for nothing. And I am getting my hopes up about him. He has wings. Therefore he trumps the rest of them. Let's hope Lisette doesn't totally suck too!

Walk on Earth a Stranger by Rae Carson

I wasn't a huge fan of this one. I didn't hate it.. It was just ehh.. If I didn't listen to the audiobook at work it probably would have taken me a couple weeks to read because I probably would have kept putting it down.

I liked the characters. Although the whole was Jefferson actually interested in Lee or not thing got on my nerves.  If not I am cool with that, but just make it clear.  Especially after what happens at the end because if they end up together at the end I would always wonder 'what if'.

Anyways thats not really whats important in this book.  This book obviously isn't a romance book.  It's about a girl on a journey to the west.  A whole bunch of bad things happen to her. She pretends to be a boy for awhile, which I loved.  After everyone found out she was a girl they started treating her differently and that pissed her off.  People died.. Animals died. a baby was born.

That's pretty much it. The book is about making friendships and a new family... and that's sweet.. but kind of boring.  I was expecting more of an adventure I guess.  The beginning was okay but once she was actually on her way to California I was over the trip.

Love Bites by Lynsay Sands

I swore I wouldn't read any more after the first one but I got bored today and though I would give this series another try.. and I regret wasting my perfectly good Saturday reading this book.. I hate that I have a thing about always finishing books.  Otherwise I would have put this book down after about 47% into it.  Rachel was annoy.  Etienne was okay.  Nothing special.  Kind of a tool for making her drink bad blood to make her stay longer.  And the whole sausage/penis scene.. not cool.  That was weird. One of the weirdest scenes I've ever read and I tend to read some weird shit.  Oh my god and can we just take a moment and remember the "wet dream" conversation.  Geez.  I am not kidding, so freaking awkward. Rachel is a freaking adult women talking about wet dreams with a man she doesn't know and then a room full of strangers.. really? JUST SAY DREAM!!  Or hell even erotic dream would have been better.  Why oh why did you have to add the word wet in there?? Even in this review I feel like a child typing wet dream.  awkward.

One word to describe the book: Awkward.

I hate giving 1 star reviews.. I really do.. but there just wasn't anything I liked... It wasn't even funny.  If the story is going to be shit at least make the characters funny.  So I am done with this series.  I am sorry.  I tried.  But two books with 1 star reviews.. it's just not for me.

Two Minutes by Dannika Dark

I am glad I didn't get my hopes up for this one because I did not like it.. Maizy drove me crazy the whole freaking time.  Maybe it's because I just kept seeing her as a little girl..  who knows but everything she did just seemed so childish to me.  If i pretended that I didn't know the two characters at all I liked their connection.  They were goofy and kind of lazyish and like to eat junk food together.  I don't know.  I knew this one was going to be weird.  But the truth is I got more emotional over the fact that April is in her late 30's than anything else.  I cried over that.  And that happened within the first five minutes of the book. The rest of it.. Ehhh.

And I disliked Prince so much.  I use to love him.  I even wanted Maizy to pick him ( I am not stupid everyone knew from the beginning that Denny would end up with her)  But I just like when opposites get together because they balance each other out. And Prince needs someone like Maizy to get the stick out of his ass. And Prince has always been so amazing and this book ruined him for me.  Like RUINED him.  UGH.

So yeah I am not gonna lie I did not like this book.  Like at all.  Quite frankly it was boring.  I was hoping with you know Maizy "secret" it would have been a lot more interesting but it was just kind of blown over.  It was done really quickly and she was different and that was that.  And the same thing with what happens with Denver.. quick fix.

I don't know.  Like I said my problems could all be because of Maizy.  She drove me crazy. Denver I have always liked.  But this book just didn't have any "issues" when really it should have had one with Maizy birth mark.. I think that was down played WAAAY to much.  they kept saying it was this huge deal but nothing happened.  No action.  Just drama about a little girl coming back to her school girl crush and then him thinking he's not good enough.. and thats just freaking boring.  No one wants to read about that in a shifter book. I'm sorry.  This is harsh but I was super disappointed because the last one was so good.

Wheeler and Naya will now and forever be the greatest.  Even in this book they were the best couple. Hell even as individuals they are better than the rest. God and that cat.  How freaking adorable was that?! Swoon. Wheeler is perfection

Phantom Shadows by Dianne Duvall

I am completely obsessed with this series! AH! Dianne Duvall knows how to write a fantastic paranormal book.  It has just the right amount of romance and just the right amount of action.  This is my new favorite series.  I just finished this one and I am currently listening to the fourth book Darkness Rises as I'm writing this... no joke y'all I can't stop.

Melanie is a badass! I love her.  I love that Sebastian tries to keep her at a distance but Melanie doesn't let him. And I love that she doesn't let what everyone else says about Bastion sway how she feels about him.  I think it says a lot about her that she stuck up for him in front of everyone when no one else would.  Especially since she didn't really know any of the immortal guardians all that well.  I love strong female leads and she was defiantly that.

And then Sebastian .. I knew I would love him. I always seem to love the guy everyone else hates. But he is so adorably awkward sometimes.

What I love the most about these books is how she can bring in different POV and not make it overwhelming.  It's obvious that there are two main characters in each book but then there will be a chapter or two in Seth's or one of the previous main characters POV and I love it.  It keeps you connected to everyone as a whole but still focused on the main characters love story.  I have read a few books that have tried to pull this off and NONE of them have.  I am completely in love with it.

OH MY GOD!!  AMI!!!  ahhh!!! Seriously. What a bomb to drop on me at the end. Not cool Dianne.  Not cool.  Kidding. Just means I have to jump right into the next one.. which I am. so job well done :)

Flat-Out Love by Jessica Park

um... I don't know how I feel about this book.. I know I am gad I didn't pay for it.  It was cute... I mean it was obvious what was going on from the beginning and the whole thing was just strange.  The characters were funny and thats the only thing that saved the book for me because I wanted to punch Julie so many times.  Who falls in love with someone on Facebook?? Someone who they have never met or haven't even talked to on the phone.  Finn could have been a 500 pound middle age woman.  So  I kinda hated her.  and Matt.. really? yeah what a dick.  I really don't understand what he was thinking like at all..at all. I don't get it.  Even after I know the ending and I know everything I still do not understand why he did what he did.  I am so confused by this book.  I. am. done. I tried to talk about it with a coworker and she thought I was on crack.  seriously try to explain this book to someone.. hahah I dare you.

Night Reigns by Dianne Duvall

I have no idea why I put off reading this book for so long because I loved it!  I think I was a little afraid Ami was going to be a weak female character because of the way Seth found her but hell no, she was a freaking bad ass.  When Seth first puts Ami and Marcus together Marcus does everything he can to get her to go away and she doesn't take any of it and she helps him fight the vampires.  If it wasn't for her Marcus would have been captured or killed.  and I LOVE that Marcus doesn't downplay what Ami can do either.  Even when he didn't want her there and he wasn't sure what he felt for her, he still was proud and boasted about her fighting skills and I freaking loved that.

I love her relationship with seth, David and Darnell.  Ahh and they all call her sweetheart.  Freaking adorable.  And I even like how Sebatian is protective of her.  Basically you can't hate Ami.  She is the sweetest person and if you wrong her or someone she loves she will kick you ass which makes her just freaking awesome.  She's one of my favorite characters ever I think.

One of my favorite things about this series is the relationship with all the characters.  Not just the two main ones but the close relationship with everyone.  I love the family atmosphere.  I love all the funny "mind" banter.   There isn't judgement, just acceptance.  Like with Ami's big secret.. They tell Chris and he doesn't say anything really. He just accepts it.  That to me was so freaking cool.  I fell a little in love with Chris at that moment.

All Played Out by Cora Carmack

I am not going to lie and say that I have loved this series.. but this book I loved! I freaking loved it.  Nell is absolutely adorable.  I love how awkward she is with everything.  It was like my first year in college.. except I didn't have a hot football player thinking I was adorable because of it but oh well.  It was still cute.  And Torres was amazing.  I really thought I was going to hate him because I thought he was just using Nell to get over his feelings for his first love but I am glad that Cora Carmack didn't keep that going through out the whole book.. Otherwise I would have hated him.  I am glad he realized that Nell was a complete different person and he realized he was a jackass for even thinking about using her to get over the other girl.

I really loved seeing Torres and Nell together.  They were complete opposites but they worked so well together.  Honestly I loved both of the characters personalities.  I was so much like Nell and I think that's why this book spoke to me so much.  I just wish I had a Torres to skinny dip with me and feed me breadsticks after I throw up on his friends.  I'm pretty sure that just doesn't happen in real life.  If I throw up on someones friends Im thinking they are going to be running as fast as they can in the other direction.

Also can I just say that the freaking couple on the cover are like perfection. Where the hell were those people on campus?  I may be seriously in love with both of them.

Blood Magic by Jennifer Lyon

I struggled a little bit with this one.  I almost didn't finish it but I pushed myself to do it and I ended up liking it. kind of.  I felt like the story wasn't that smooth and honestly it was hard to follow at the beginning.  I wasn't getting it.  To the point where I had to go and make sure that this was the first of the series.. which it is.

And Axel.. what a dick.  seriously I hated him so much that by time he started being nice that I couldn't get over what a jerk he was in the beginning.  I know that he had to be a jerk but I just think it was done to an excessive amount.  There are lot of books where the guy is a jerk but I still end up loving him.. This was not one of them.  Like I liked nothing about him.  And then theres Darcey.  Who I felt bad for because lets face it, Axel gave her no choice but to be trapped.. but then you go and sleep with him?? Sure makes sense to me.  You can't hit him because of the witch karma(which is just ridiculous if you ask me.) so naturally that means sex it the next option.  Dumb.  Obviously it all worked out but whatever.

I wanted to like this book because the concept of the story is so interesting. But to me it did not deliver.  The only thing I did like about the book was the group of guys. I love the brotherhood they seemed to have.  Other than that though.. ehhh.

Kiss of Crimson by Lara Adrian

Ehh.. I was not overly fond of this one.  I love the world the books are based in but so far I am not impressed with the stories.  This one was kind of boring.  And I feel like there was a lot of "filler".  And I hate romances that don't get resolved until the very freaking end.  Like with in the last 5 minutes of the book ( Audiobook)  It drives me crazy because I always love all the stuff after they are openly in love with each other.

I did like the characters.  I mean they were kind of dull but they were sweet and funny.  And yeah thats really about it.  That's pretty much how I feel about this book.. It's dull but it was still okay. I still enjoyed listening to it.

Secret Life of a Vampire by Kerrelyn Sparks

I liked it.  For sure I didn't love it.  I could not stand Laura.  Like at all.  She was terrible.  Jack was amazing and way, way too good for Laura.  But like with the last books it was funny.  I laughed a few times.  It's really the only reason I keep reading the series because I really don't like the females.  I don't think I have really liked any of them.  Maybe Emma but the rest so far have not been that great.

I loved that Jack didn't give up.  Even after Laura was a complete brat.  The whole Apollo thing was just sick. but again I just didn't like Laura.  I don't like how she handled finding out that Jack was a vampire.  She already knew that he had red eyes and that he could teleport.  She was okay thinking he was an alien but not a vampire?  That just didn't sit right with me.

Night Embrace by Sherrilyn Kenyon

I am re-reading the Dark Hunter series and I did not write a review for most of them which is ludicrous.  Especially since they are some of my favorite books and I think everyone should read them.  And this one is one of my favorites.

Talon is male perfection.  He has to be one of the most patient men alive.  Sunshine cold be a handful at times and where most men I know would have yelled or at least been irritated, Talon thought it was cute.  Which makes him one of the sexiest men ever.  And then how can you not love Sunshine.  She is so ditzy and forgetful and sweet.  She isn't your typical heroine and I think that's why I love her so much. I think it would be impossible to hate her.

I loved seeing them together.  They are so different but they are so perfect for each other.  I loved the whole healthy food vs non healthy food bickering. It was adorable. They are both sarcastic so conversations were funny.

I also loved that there were so many of the different characters in this one.. Now it may be different for me because I have already read all the other books and I know all the characters stories because I have read a couple reviews that complained about this.  I loved it though.  I love seeing them all interact together.  It's like a huge family.

And then there is Zarek.  And I love him.  I love that he ended up helping Sunshine because she gave him a bowl.  I know there are other little reasons but really who doesn't love Zarek.  He obviously just needs someone to be kind to him and again I love him.
