Review: Barbarian's Touch

Barbarian's Touch Barbarian's Touch by Ruby Dixon
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I went back and forth on if I liked this book or not. I LOVE the premise of it. I like the the female character, Lilah, was deaf. That sounds horrible to say but it added something totally different to the story and it made you see exactly how sweet Rokan was compared to Hassen. Rokan didn't want to make her feel out of place so he didn't use words.. he founds other ways to communicate with her and he wanted her to teach him ASL.

I LOVED Rokan. Seriously. He was the sweetest alien of all of them so far. He was perfect in every way. I was not a huge fan of Lilah... She acted like she loved Rokan, told him she loved him but when he told her about the mate thing she was a total bitch. Um if you love someone who cares if the cootie helped you figure that out sooner. If I was Rokan I would have been completely devastated by her reaction. Which I guess he was but I'm just saying you don't treat someone you love that way. She was this meek scared kitten for 80% of the book and then she turned into a bitch and then one day she's all sweet again.. Just annoyed me. I think she bothered me so much because I honestly loved Rokan. I don't think anyone would have been good enough for him.

Love me some Ice Barbaians :)

Review: Claimed by a Demon King

Claimed by a Demon King Claimed by a Demon King by Felicity Heaton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I went into this book with a negative attitude ( I know bad Megan!) But I was not a huge fan of Sable in the last book but I am girl crushing on her for reals now. Also Thorn was freaking adorable. I love it when the hero doesn't know certain things.. like him trying to make human food for Sable when she was hung over. He had my heart right then and he will have it forever. Also how sweet he was. He jumped to the mortal world to get her coffee! OHHHH and when some skanky human throws herself at him he completely shuts it down. Whoo!!! Yay Thorn!

The whole book was action, adorable demon Thorn and Sable just being a badass. I loved this book!!

Review: To Covet The Fae

To Covet The Fae To Covet The Fae by L.E. Wilson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I read Wilson's Deathless Night series and absolutely loved it. The Kincaid wolves were some of my favorite characters from that series. They were hilarious and come on the accent! Whoa! Does it for me every time. So when I saw that there was going to be a series for the wolf pack, I freaked out and I was not at all disappointed by the first book.

We actually meet Brock and Heather in the last book Blood Obsession from the Deathless Night series. Brock saves Heather and her friend Grace's lives and then follows them to Seattle and that's kind of where the book starts. Brock has an insta lust thing going on for Heather and same for her. Except she is trying to run away and Brock is chasing her. So as Heather is trying to get away one of "her people" catch her and take her to their prince and Brock follows. That's where the fun begins. I won't give away a bunch of details because I hate spoilers but the two are thrown into another world and what happens in the world is up to a flip of a coin!

Seriously so much fun to read and it just has a different twist than any other shifter book. I can honestly say I've never read a book where either good or bad things happen based on a coin. Just goes to show that those faeries really are loons. ;)

I CANNOT wait for the next book! The author generously gave me a copy of this book :)

Review: The Raven King

The Raven King The Raven King by Maggie Stiefvater
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have been waiting for this book for more than a month.. And it was so freaking good.. except the ending. But everything else that happens makes up for it, kinda.

There is some pretty fantastic things (even if some of them are 100% random.. unless I suck at seeing things) like Adam and Ronan.. who the hell saw that coming? Not this girl thats for freaking sure. Blew my mind. But it makes me happy anyways. Then of course Blue and Gansey finally have a single kiss... yes people thats all we get.. the one kiss. But that's alright.

So much happens in this book. Like soooooo much that there is no way I'm going to get into it. If you've read this far in the series you have an idea whats going and you know when I say that it's all a little crazy, I mean it. It's so much that I have a hard time putting it out in words. But I loved every second of it.

I felt like it ending quickly and it was very vague. That was the real disappointment. I liked everything else except I wanted more of an ending. Not just saying that Blue and Gansey are going to travel and Adam is going to college and Ronan is staying at the barn. Idk what I was expecting exactly I just know that what I got was a let down.

I am a huge romance reader... It's usually all I read and I was just hoping for at least a conformation that Blue and Gansey stayed together and especially what happened with Adam and Ronan. I need some closure on the relationships! Even the friendships seemed to be going separate ways... Which I get that happens after high school... but they went through too much together to just idk not say goodbye. It just ended too quickly.

Review: Moon Dance

Moon Dance Moon Dance by J.R. Rain
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

This book wasn't that bad.. I was looking through kindle Unlimited books that you can listen to and saw this and thought What the hell? I mean I didn't love it.. But I didn't hate listening to it.

Sam was attacked and turned into a vampire against her will. She did work for the FBI but now can't go out at night so she has her own PI business. She has two children and a husband. she doesn't want to loose that life. So when her husband starts cheating on her she lets it go... uh NO. This pissed me off and then when she started dreaming about someone else she freaked out on herself. Lady your hubby is sleeping with someone else and isn't even trying to hide it.. I'm pretty sure its cool if you dream about another guy.

Other than that little irritant that book was good. It was about an actual case and not a whole lot of drama.

I went on and started the next book.. and stopped at about 10%... One of my biggest pet peeves in a book series is when there are obvious inconsistencies. In this book Sam is 37 and at the very end of the book her husbands girlfriend dumps him.. In the start of the second book, his GF is taking the kids for ice cream and Sam is 34... Like those are some pretty big freaking things to just change on a whim. I don't know if ill get around to reading the rest of the series. Maybe when I'm not pissed anymore.

Review: Shut Out

Shut Out Shut Out by Kelly Jamieson
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

I wanted to like this book more than I actually did. I wasn't all terrible.. it was just terrible until about half way through. I almost put the book down multiple times.

I really don't want to give things away, so it's hard for me to review this book. That is one thing that I don't think I'll ever be great at. So this will be short and sweet. The thing that bothered me the most was that we didn't find out a lot until the very end. The author lets us know that their are secrets and more going on in certain situations but I just felt like it was being held over my head. It annoyed me. Besides that I wasn't a fan of some of the dialogue.. it seemed forced and awkward.

But besides all that I still enjoyed the book. I am glad I didn't out it down. I loved seeing Jacob grow to love Skylar. He was sweet.. well after he stopped pushing her away he was.

I will defiantly read the next book even if this one wasn't 100% for me.

Review: Elias

Elias Elias by Sabrina Paige
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Kindle Unlimited books are always a hit or miss with me. I have read a book by Sabrina Paige before andI enjoyed it and I enjoyed this one as well.

River is a movie star running away from a cheating fiancé and a mom who takes all her money. She runs to Vegas and thats where she meets Elias. Elias is "celebrating" his Navy retirement in Vegas. He was injured my a bomb explosion and lost his leg. He also does not want to retire. He sees River and he has no clue who she is and she loves that. They share a hot kiss and then they go their separate ways. Until the morning when he saves her from a swarm of paparazzi. River has no where to go. She invites herself to go to West Bend with Elias and thats where their relationship grows.

The book was seriously sweet and extremely steamy. Elias is one of my new favorite book boyfriends. He acts like a tough military man but then he goes and does super sweet things for River.. the whole picnic in the mountains! Just amazing. And to be honest I thought River would drive me nuts but I kind of loved her too. She did NOT act like a "star". She was very down to Earth and she was generally a funny girl.

I am most defiantly going to read on in the series. I am mad at myself for not picking this one up sooner!
