Nope. Really how does this book have over a 4 star rating?

Marcus is an asshole. I like alpha males. I really do, when they go all caveman-y, yum. But this guy was not that. He was an asshole. First off he blackmailed her... ok whatever I can work with that. Then he has this whole plan to make her fall for him so she forgets his brother.. I kind of can work with that. Even though she kept telling him that she never slept with his brother. He doesn't listen to anything she has to say. Like nothing. Nothing she says matters to him. And she somehow falls in love with that man? I don't buy it. Maybe someone could fall in love with the man at the end of the book but the controlling, uncaring man that Darcy fell in love with? NO. It's one thing when an alpha male is controlling but when he honestly doesn't care about the girl, I can't wrap my mind around that. We even got his POV and he didn't even care in his own head. There were a few times when he felt guilty over something evil he said, but thats not enough. I do not understand how anyone could fall for a man that purposely put her down. He said some awful things to her. Things that weren't true even though she freaking told him the truth.

And Darcy was the worst. She fell for a man who verbally abuses her. And she was weak no matter that she fought at first. The fights were childish and completely pointless. The book was one long drawn out fight. They said the same things over and over again. "You are keeping me against my will." "No I'm not. You agreed and I don't care."

The only reason I kept reading the book was because I thought the sex would be good and it was not . Like at all. So this was defiantly a kindle unlimited flop for me. Sometimes you can find some fantastic books on there and sometimes you waste your morning reading a ridiculous book with a terrible man finding love with a weak female.

Review: Ravage

Oh Tillie Cole, why do you make my cry over all these damaged men. Like seriously cry.. I couldn't stop for at least 10 minutes and then when I read another page I started again.

Now if you follow Tillie on instagram or Facebook she talks about how 194 is the most f-up character she has written.. but I don't agree. Yes 194 is scarred and he has been a slave and on the obedience drug for 15 years but so was Zaal, right? Maybe I'm not remember it right. It's been awhile since I read Zaal's story. But anyways. At least the drug doesn't stay in 194 system for that long. I mean he still kills and tortured because those bastards have his little sister but idk. It just seems better.

194 is sent to kill or capture Zaal. Instead he takes Zaal's sister to get more information on how he can get past the guards. Zoya(Zaal's sister) was kind of amazing. I won't lie 194 does some pretty fucked up things to her and she hold her own the whole time. I was damned impressed. I also loved that she saw that he wasn't doing these things on his own. He was being forced and since she knew a little bit about what happened with her brother I think that helped her understand what was actually going on.

Their love was fast and it was beautifully heartbreaking. They both had terrible past and they both had to work past that to get to see each other for who they really are. And good lord when Zoya finally met her brother.. I cried. I bawled. My husband thought someone had died in real life I was crying so hard.

It was just a beautiful book... in a messed up kind of way. Two tortured,lonely souls falling in love. I think this book was my favorite of the 3 so far. I love Tillie's writing. I don't know another author who can write such messed up things and it still somehow be beautiful.

Review: Of Breath And Soul

This is the second book in the Ward Witches series and I think I enjoyed it a lot more than the first. The first book in any series is about getting to know characters and the town and sometimes it can be kind of boring. This book was not boring at all. It had a lot of action in it.

Piper and her brother Jasper have agreed to help the dragon tribe get their magic back. Which basically put a huge target on Piper's back. All kinds of crazy things happen to her; 13 dead birds, being stabbed in the leg, vampire blood, being attacked by a bunch of ravens.. all crazy things and think this girl is still in high school. Even though I guess it's a little different when you are a witch and you grew up in a paranormal world. I kind of think Piper needs to learn to fight.. she threw Chinese food at the enemy because she didn't know what else to do.

The only thing I really didn't like about the book was some of the dialogue. It was a little too cheesy for me. I am a little bit older(okay a lot) than the target audience and I think if I read this book when I was a bit younger I wouldn't have even noticed the dialogue.

Seriously so much happens and what happened at the end was kind of mind blowing. I love how Jennifer Snyder can pack so much into a book with out it being overly long and drawn out. I can not wait until the next book!!

Review: The Serpent Prince

The Serpent Prince by Elizabeth Hoyt

Probably some spoilers..

I have mixed feelings about this book. I loved the first half of it and I kind of hated the second.

So we have a country girl, Lucy, who stumbles on a naked severely injured man, Simon. She brings him back to her house and helps him heal. He is not at all what a gentleman should be. He speaks his mind and is rather funny. I loved their banter as they got to know each other in her home. It was adorable. He seemed to bring out Lucy's own self. She was use to just going about her day, taking care of her fathers home, she never really thought about what she wanted told do. And she made Simon wish for redemption or something close to that. She made him hope for something good in his life.

The problem is that Simon has people wanting to kill him and when they show up in the country and almost hit Lucy, he leaves. Then he decides he can't live without her and he goes back to her and begs her to marry him. She of course loves him so she agrees and moves to London with him... I got super excited that the couple in this book was getting married half way through it. Usually that doesn't happen until the very, very end. But honestly after they got married the book kind of went downhill in my eyes. Simon was off trying to find the men that killed his brother. He was sneaking away at night and having to keep Lucy in the dark. He was so stinking determined that he wouldn't listen to anyone, even when Lucy tries to find a way to help with out him having to duel.

Then Lucy find out that Simon is killing people in duels and she freaks out.. as I'm sure any lady in that time would.. but she goes on and on about how it's this huge sin and how it'll damn his soul.. and yeah that just annoyed me.. Although I do understand that that's how a respectable lady would act back then but geez I don't want to read about it.

SO I really don't know how to rate this book. I honestly loved the first half. I loved Simon's wit and I loved how Lucy responded to it. But I just can't get over how much I disliked the second half... And the ending was so corny. bleh. This is the first book by Hoyt that I haven't been excited over. So I liked half of it so I'll give it 3 stars. If I was rating just the first half it would be 5 but the second half would be 1 or 2 so 3 stars is my final answer :)

How did I not know this book was in audio? Maybe thats a new thing. I got on my audible account and saw it and freaked out. I think I paid 3.47 for it.. seriously less than 4 bucks! The man that narrated Styx was amazing. I was kind of wondering how someone would narrate a stutter with out making it sound fake but he did it. He did it perfectly. I was extremely impressed. J.F. Harding. I just looked up his name because he needs to be acknowledged. SO GOOD! I have re read this book a few times and I still love it every time!

Mild spoilers.. but some things just have to be vented about!

I was a little nervous to read this one.. as I am with all MC books. I read one book where the guy forced his girl with 27 guys and it scarred me for life!

I am not going to tell y'all what happened because you can read the summary and know but i will tell you that I am 100% completely in love with this book and with Styx and his crew. I have never loved a motorcycle book more.
I loved the fact that he could talk to Mae and that she became his calm and it became easier for him to talk to her.

ugh and Rider. UGH that stupid trickster. I freaking felt so sorry for him. I NEVER wanted her to choose him because I was in love with Styx from the first page but still I wanted to bundle him up and just carry him around and pet his head until he was over it. But then he had to go and be all crazy and make me look stupid for trusting the little bastard. I hate it when a character makes me look stupid. So Rider is on my shit list and should run very far away.

I will most defiantly be reading the next book and probably every other book Tillie Cole has written.

Review: The Raven Prince

Elizabeth Hoyt is my historical romance hero. I have searched and read some terrible (in my opinion) HR books and then I found Hoyt. I loved her Maiden Lane series, seriously loved it and I am waiting on the next book to come out so I though hey I'll try one of her other series and BOOM! I loved this book too!!

The reason I tend to dislike HR is that they are usually too sappy or I get really pissed off at the women not being able to do what they want to do. Hoyt's books have some of that.. but I don't notice it because her books are also funny and if a book can make me laugh out loud than I am one happy reader.

In this book we have Edward, who is a grumpy, scarred Earl and Anna his hired as his secretary. Anna isn't afraid to speak her mind around him and it's scared of him when he looses his temper. Most of the book is them and their banter. It was just a all around fun book to read.

The only thing I didn't like so much in this book was the whole Aphrodite's Brothel place. I won't go into it but it was just kind of weird... but again the banter made me laugh so I looked past it.

One last thing, I LOVE the in between chapter story. I always love them but I really enjoyed The Raven Prince story!!

Review: Duke of Sin

LOVED this book!!

I am too tired and still in vacation mode to write an actual review so let me summarize quickly.

Val was a d bag but for the most part he had actual reasons. It was incredibly cool to be inside his head because he honestly didn't think like normal people.. or at least me.. I'm not totally normal but some of the crazy shit that Val did, he thought was normal and acceptable. Then Bridget comes in and tries to teach him the difference between right and wrong. BUT Val has a logical argument for that. I really wish I would have written it down because it was fantastic. Something about who decides if it's right or wrong.. I can't remember exactly.

So that's kind of how their love started and the love scenes were hot! I think the best of the series. I kind of think that this book was my favorite from the series. All of the books are somewhat funny. It's the only reason I can read them. Historical Romances aren't my thing. Anyways this book was super funny. How could it not be with Val as the MC. He was a nut and I seriously loved his POV. I loved that he got so confused as to why he wanted to talk to Bridget and a million other things.

Ok so this turned out longer than I thought it would but thats how good it was! I can't wait for the next book! ALF!!!! So excited to finally get her story!

Review: Blood Betrayal

I have loved every book in the Deathless Night Series. They are all a little bit darker than a normal paranormal and I like that. This one is no exception. This one is even a little darker than the first three. The main female character, Ryan, is addicted to drugs and the main male character, Christian, needs to have sex. Christian has been locked up for weeks without blood and without sex. The people that have him bring out Ryan to dance for him so that he gets turned on but can't do anything about it. It torture on him.

It was a different experience than the first couple. Like I said it is darker. We are dealing with a woman who hears voices in her head and needs drugs to make them go away. Ryan thinks that she is insane. I won't give anything away but even knowing what happened in the last couple books I was still surprised by this one. I did enjoy this book. I didn't enjoy as much as the first three(the first three made me laugh a lot. Even with all the serious things going on around the characters. I didn't laugh in this book) but it was still a great addition to the series and I can't wait to get my hands on the next one!

Review: Here Kitty, Kitty!

This book was ridiculous but the good kind of ridiculous that makes you just want to laugh until your cry.

Okay so there really wasn't a lot of storyline besides Nik and Angie getting to know each other. The other books in this series always had an enemy attack or a kidnapping or something but this one.. well technically there were kidnappings but they weren't done by enemies. Nik's brothers take Angie because they thought they were saving her. Angie stays with Nik for awhile because her pack need to protect Miki who is preggers.

Angie is bat shit crazy. No joke, the girl is nuts. She attacks Nik when she wakes up in his house.. thats understandable. She thought she was actually kidnapped. Then she goes and spends $20,000 of his money on clothes. She curses like a sailor. She flirts with anything male (but doesn't like to be touched). She fights with everyone, even Nik's parents and grandma. When I put it all out there like this she sounds terrible but it's all hilarious. She is witty and sarcastic and she's actually thoughtful. She helps Nik's shy sister get out of her slump. I liked her a lot.

Nik is pretty awesome too. He kind of pissed me off at first but he grows on you. He is arrogant and thinks he knows everything and he pushes Angie's buttons just to get her riled up... which is actually hilarious to read. He takes Angie's attitude and gives it right back. He had no intention of settling down. Tigers are loners and they have cubs with lots of different women. Which I freaking hated but then he falls in love. Honestly the ending was adorable. Nik's friends convince him that they have to all live together and that he has to learn to howl.. and he was actually going to do it for her! Until she laughed at him. :)

Honestly the book is ridiculous. There's no other way to put it. The dialogue is hilarious and completely stupid and if anyone in real life acted the way Angie did, I would punch her in the face and then run like hell. But in this book she's funny.

Review: Wolf at the Door

I feel like I have wanted to read this book forever and I was honestly a little disappointed by it.

Gwen is a paranormal writer and she meets a contact in a graveyard and then two men show up at her house wanting to know what the contact gave/told her. But oh they smell her and shocker both brothers smell her as a mate. Gwen freaks out, runs away in her car, Jacque jumps on her car to get her to stop again Gwen freaks out and crashes the car. So Jacque kidnaps her, drives her hours away and tells her she can never go home. So naturally Gwen jumps his bones. Then the rest of the book is a lot of their old pack trying to attack them and Jacque trying to convince Gwen that it's a good thing that he kidnapped her and took away her life.

Besides the story being a bit weak, I felt like the writing was extremely simple. This usually doesn't bother me.. ok let me rephrase, I usually don't notice it. So for it to bother me it's got to be pretty bad.

Ill read the next book just because I want to know about Armand. He was a freaking sweetie.

So I don't know if I should rate this book or not.. just because today I wasn't feeling anything. I didn't hate it or anything like that. It was just kind of meh to me.. but honestly everything was meh to me today.

Darcy was just kind of boring and a little bit stupid. She trusted the enemy and it hurt a lot of people. Warrick was kind of cute in an awkward kind of way. Which is honestly my favorite kind but again I just wasn't feeling him. He was a bit boring. The whole book was boring. Most of the book is them hiding from the Dark Fae... Like that's the book.

Again you probably should just ignore this completely. :)

Review: Christina's Tapestry

Why do I read these kinds of books?? I mean the summary of this book doesn't even sound that great and yet here I am spending my night reading it.. Well it's short it took me a couple hours to read but still.

A tapestry magically brings a girl to a medieval world. She finds out that she has to screw two brothers and decide if she wants to marry one of them in 3 days. OH but bonus she still gets to sleep with the other brother once a week after she gets married. -- thats the storyline.

Let me just say that if this happened to me and it was the freaking Hemsworth brothers I had to screw for 3 days and decide who to marry.. I would still go home! You can not, NOT decide who you will spend the rest of your life with in 3 days. Enjoy the sex, go home with a crazy story and move on. Also think of all the things she gave up from the current world. I would die with out showers. There is no man I would give up showers and toilets for. And netflix, Sephora, movies, cars, refrigerators, microwaves, ok I'm just going to say electricity (candles would be a bitch to light. I fall on my face walking on straight ground with all my lights on. If I had to navigate by candle light, I would be dead.)

Okay so besides all the things she has to give up, she also has to sleep with her hubbys brother once a week. I know for 3 days they have all been sleeping together but that system is going to cause problems. I have read books where 3 people are in a relationship. Everything is equal and they all claim the kids. Marc gets totally 100% screwed. He can never claim a child and he can't get married. He has fallen in love with a women who is married to his brother. But he won't ever be able to get over it because he has to sleep with her once a week. Its just messed up!!

This book also need a lot of editing. I wish I would have counted how many times Jarek came out as Jared. IT threw me off the first time, I was like shit she's banging another guy but no I figured out it was Jarek. There was also a lot of his/her mix ups. That always bothers me.

Anyways, the book was a waste. I didn't like the story at all. Honestly the whole time I just felt bad for Marc. Thats pretty much all I thought about the whole time I read the book. So no I won't be reading anymore from this series.

Review: Light My Fire

Oh you guys. This is by far the best book from this series. It is one of the best books I've read in a long while. I don't even think I can write a proper review. That's honestly how much I loved it. But I shall try.

The book starts off with Elina with a ridiculously long name from the Stepps "attempting" to assassinate the Dragon Queen. I say "attempting" because she really didn't try. She told the guard, Celyn, that she was there to kill the queen and then when brought before the queen she told her that she was there to kill her.. Everyone laughed and Celyn was ordered to put her somewhere safe and he put her in jail and then forgot about her for months. But then the Queen decides she wants Elina to try to help form an alliance with the dragons and the women of the Stepps. So thats how the whole journey started. Celyn escorts Elina back home.

Obviously a lot more happens but you can read the book and find all that out. What I freaking loved about this book was Elina and Celyn. I don't even know how to explain. Elina is blunt to the point of rudeness. She takes everything that is said literally and everything she says is meant to be literal. She says anything and everything that should never be said. She wasn't dramatic in any way. Everything was said just as a fact and I effing love her. I seriously want her in my life. No other character has ever made me laugh as much.

“It must be nice to fly.”
“Is that sarcasm?”
“No. If I could fly, I would live in tree. Stare down at everyone . . . quietly hating them all.”

“What are you doing?” he asked, sounding much more panicked than he’d like to.
“It has been long day,” she replied nonchalantly. “Much activity. I am tired but not sleepy. I thought we could fuck and then I would have good night’s sleep, making me ready for ride tomorrow.”
“You want to fuck me?”
“You are only one here. I could play with myself, but . . . you are here. And sometimes my hands get tired. I do not want them worn out in case we have more murderers to kill tomorrow.”

And Ceyln just accepts and takes anything that Elina throws at him. And he is funny as well. I also love his interaction with his sister. I don't think anyone else could have made a better mate for Elina. He was sweet, even when Elina had no clue why. He was just adorable. He is my favorite dragon. By far. I love him.

I loved literally everything about this book. I am excited to read the next one with Elina's sister :)

Ok so I enjoyed this book way more than I thought I would.

It takes 10 years after the last book ended. At first that sounded weird to me. Ten years is a freaking long time but then again we are talking about dragons and they live long lives so 10 years isn't all that much. Plus this way it makes more sense that Eibhear wasn't moody like he was at the end of the last book. He had time to get over it. I freaking loved Eibhear. He was super sarcastic and I loved it!

And Izzy! I thought she would drive me nuts. I like strong women but there's a line where it's too manly and Ive always though Izzy crossed that line. But the way she handled Eibhear was perfection.

The whole book was fun and just down right hilarious. I loved every minute of this book. I think it's one of my favorites of the series.

Review: The Dragon Who Loved Me

I have no clue why I wait so dang long in-between each of these books and I looked and I said this in the last review. To be honest the only reason I listened to this book today was because the audiobook was only 3.99! Otherwise I probably wouldn't have read this one for awhile.

While I will say that the story itself wasn't all that fantastic... but it was just so dang funny! And ok the story was good.. There's a war going on and Annwyl the Bloody runs away to seek an alliance with a deadly rebel leader with out letting anyone know. So Rhona is set to fetch her and Vigholf the Abhorrent follows.

Really the only thing I didn't like about the book was Rhona... She was boring . So so boring. she is a soldier and she follows every order to a T. She wasn't funny, she wasn't necessarily smart, she didn't have superior fighting skills like Annwyl, she was just there. She took care of her sisters because all her mother cared about was battle and Rhona didn't really care for battle. She said she was good at it but she really wanted to be a blacksmith.

Vigholf was freaking hilarious. Since I have gone so long between books I can't really remember each male characters but I want to say that he is one of my favorites, if not my absolute favorite. He made me laugh the whole dang book. His thing with the horse was the best.

Now the next book.. I use to love Eibhear. But after what happens in this book I don't think I'm going to like him as much. He was so carefree and funny and I'm afraid he's going to be moody.. we shall see!

Review: Enough: A Dark, Erotic Motorcycle Club Romance

I want to say that I hated this book buuuut I stayed up all night reading it so what does that tell you? So the book was entertaining but it wasn't necessarily good. Does that make any sense at all? no? Oh well it's how I feel.

So first off Lila who is running away from an abusive ex. So she gets a job at a biker tattoo shop... seems pretty legit. I know if I was running away from a crazy ex, that I would immediately go somewhere with scarier men. She's sworn off "that" type of men so when theres sparks with the boss Dare, she ignores them.. but not really because she goes on and on and on about how much she wants to fuck him. She is obsessed with his every move and thats freaking annoying.

Then there's Dare, who I don't know, he's a biker. He acts like a biker. He likes to tie up Lila and do some kinky things with her. That's pretty much it. Oh he has this big secret that isn't really a secret because it's obvious early on. But anyways he runs away from Lila because he thinks he isn't good enough for her because of this secret. I think it's stupid to run away from someone you love just because you are too scared to talk to them but that's just me.

The story itself was okay.. There were a lot of things that didn't make sense to me. It's why only some MC romances work for me. This one had a story until about halfway through when they start having sex and then thats literally all they do. I think there's one scene/day where they go for a ride on his bike and watch TV but other than that, they do nothing else but screw. Which is cool. This is an erotica book. But ill be honest, the sex scenes weren't all that hot. They were kinky but I think there was too many scenes and I think it just because you tie someone up doesn't make the sex hot. There wasn't enough detail for the scenes to be steamy... not that you want too much details but when you say you tie ropes all around her body... all I'm thinking about is when you see those cartoons that are tied to a railroad track about to get run over.. and yeah thats not sexy.

So like I said, I really didn't love the story. It had a few holes and Lila character contradicted itself. But other than that the writing was good. I mean I couldn't stop reading it to go to bed so obviously it had to be good.. right?

Review: Shadow Rider

I wanted to like this book more than I did. The concept is intriguing. The shadow walking thing and how the family works as well not a mafia but pretty much a mafia. But I kind of did not like this book at all.

Francesca was too good to be true. It was just annoying. There is so much I could say but It would turn into a rant and I'm trying to stop doing that. She just annoyed me. She had this badd ass mafia esk guy and all she worried about was protecting him. She had a knife to her throat and all she would think about was getting blood on his coat.. Thats just freak obnoxious. She also had some guy out to get her and she was too worried about him getting to Stefano. Even though she has seen many, many times that he isn't a man you can fuck with. Plus he has a bazillion family members that all stick together for protection. It just didn't make sense that she was that worried about him. It was almost insulting.

And Stefano.. I know I say I like Alpha males but maybe I don't. At least not this one. I understand the caveman thing. Marking your girl, knowing where she's at, buying her clothes, making her live with you. These are all things I can live with but what I can't do is how he got mean. If she didn't do exactly what he wanted exactly when he wanted it, he got enraged. It was scary as hell. I was scared and I was just reading about it. I have no idea how she was so confident that he would never hit her. Blah blah he's totally against hurting women. I don't care. When someone gets that made over the fact that you want to wear panties.. yeah just no. Im getting the eff out of there.

This book had a lot of repetition. Stefano had to talk Francesca into everything. He kept saying he hated repeating himself but he kept doing it. She argued with him over everything.

But what I hated the most was the dialogue. It was so awkward and forced and formal. I hated reading it. I rolled my eyes soo many times. It's been awhile since Ive read a Feehan book and I can't remember if that's how the dialogue always is but I couldn't take it. I won't lie, towards the end I started skimming the conversations. It was just so fake!

So will I read the next book?.. honestly I have no idea. I might try it but if it's like this one I defiantly won't waste 2 days reading it. 2 stars JUST because I really like the shadow walking and the family business. I hated everything about the romance.

Review: Night's Blaze

I didn't love or hate this book. It was just kind of meeeh.

I was not a huge fan of Lily. She was extremely naive. She is being blackmailed into letting someone get on to Dreagan. She knows nothing about what Dreagan is. All she knows is that they make whiskey. She assumes that this guy wants to steal art and that its no big deal because they will have insurance at Dreagan. Yeah. That's just dumb. I don't know if someone would go through all the trouble Dustin went through to get art. (but then again I don't know art.. so maybe they would.) No thats not what my real problem with her was. It was that she didn't tell anyone. This always drives me crazy in books. Everything could have been so much easier if she would have just said she was being blackmailed. They could have had longer to come up with a better plan. I don't know. It just irritates me when the main character lies the whole book.

Rhys was... well he wasn't anything really. He was sweet to Lily and he was already in love with her when the book started so it was just him saying he wasn't good enough for her. So he stayed away for as long as he could... also kind of annoying.

Okay so plot wise, it was pretty good. Well okay let me rephrase: We find out one major thing that changes everything! Obviously I am not going to say what that is but my mind was blown. Then that ending was also pretty good and a total shock. What the hell Kyle? What the hell? That is the one and only time I felt bad for Lily. Kyle was a dick... so was Dustin. She had some bad male figures in her life.

I won't lie and say that I was totally into this book, I wasn't. I got a little bored but I am glad I read it and I am glad I can move on to the next one.

Review: The Highwayman

The Highwayman by Kerrigan Byrne

I went back and forth on liking this book. I think I liked parts of it and other parts I hated. Because I am so wishy washy on my feelings and because it's been a long day and I'm lazy I'm going to make this review lists.

What I liked:
-I loved the story line. Two children who helped each other be happy but get separated by terrible circumstances. They later on find each other and get together. That's just good writing.
-Dorian Blackwell
-I also loved the side characters! All of them. They were good people.
-The epilogue was perfect. I hated the ending of the actual book but I LOVED the epilogue.


What I didn't like so much:
-Dorian Blackwell. Yes I know I put him in the first list but that's because I liked him but I also hated him. He was good at first but then later on in the book it got annoying that he wouldn't accept love. I get he was hurt but get over it faster.
-Farah Townsend/Mackenzie/Blackwell= She was annoying and was way too pushy. She acted entitled to things that she wasn't. I hate that.
-I also wish we got to see more of the couple together. You know after Dorian got over his shit.
-The love and the dialogue was CHEESY . The ending made me want to puke.

So all in all it was a decent book... Not a favorite by any means. But I will probably read the next book at some point.
